What
do Partner Districts get from participation in the Jennings Initiative?
What is expected of Partner Districts?
Partner
Districts are expected to commit to:
- Convene
and support a District Work Team which:
- Provides
leadership to the district's work with OLFA and the Jennings Initiative.
- Attends
professional development, peer training, work sessions and other
follow-up activities.
- Works
in conjunction with community partners to identify barriers that
affect their students' learning and strategies to overcome them.
- Works
in conjunction with parent and community leaders to strategically
engage parents more effectively in school programs and the education
of their children.
- Organizes
and/or works closely with a community partnership team.
- Establishes
and or supports an individual within the district with responsibility
for managing the details of school / community collaboration.
- Works
with the regional technical assistance centers (e.g., RPDCs / ESCs)
on this initiative.
- Participates
three years as a Partner District (the length of current funding)
- Serves
as a pilot/model for other districts throughout the state (this entails
extensive evaluation and documentation of activities associated with
this
initiative).
